liminal is a combination of art, poetry and physical theatre. It was created for the Dark Mountain Project’s Uncivilisation Festival, and has subsequently been performed at other festivals and events. It unfolds as a series of tableaux scenes and installations that act as way marks on a rite of passage.
liminal has been staged in diverse settings, from a darkened room at the Kandinsky in Govan Conference, to the fifty acre woods of The Sustainability Centre in Hampshire. It has used a cast ranging from two to thirty performers and musicians, and has been described as an ‘orchestrated catharsis’ and “like the beginning of the story of the world.” (The Independent)
